Hi Scott, I think the main benefits to Unix (besides
a general distaste for Windows) are in terms of granularity and scalability as
well as the number of add-on scripts our “brothers” have written
for Unix. Also, I think Windows misses out on some of the graphing and
reporting available through larrd. I think the offline feature you are
referring to is available in a script from deadcat.net called maint.pl. It
provides a web front end for enabling and disabling tests. I’m
running it on Linux but the release notes list it for Windows as well. Here’s the link. I’m sure the other brothers have
more input as well, but hopefully this will get you started. Tom From: owner- Experience with Big Brother Servers on Unix
and Windows A customer wants to understand the main differences with the
UNIX and Windows Big Brother servers. Does anyone have input on the feature differences that you
know about? (A customer noted that the Unix Big Brother server had an
“offline” feature, Does the Windows Big Brother Server have this
also?) Thanks! Scott Folkedahl APM (Application Performance Management) With
