We are running BB1.9e-btf on a sunblade1000 running solaris 9.
We have ping (fping) setup to run 4 successive pings if a server is
unreachable. I could be wrong, but the way I understand it is if ping
is successful on any of those 4 tries it should not send out a
notification. Even if it fails on the first 3 tries and is only
successfu on the 4th try. The only way for a notification to go out is
if ping fails 4 successive times.
In our case, a notification is being sent out if any of those 4 tries
fails. Even if it was successful one of those tries. For example, a
server fails the 1st ping test but is successful on the 2nd test. The
display page will stay green but a notification is sent that the 1st
ping failed. How can I setup bb to only page when all 4 successive
pings to a server fail? We only want to be notified if all 4 pings fail.
Thanks,
Charlene
