It looks like something blocks the 1984 port. (firewall,
router acl, routing).
>From each client that shows such messages in the BBOUT, you can try a
"ping bbd" , then "telnet bbd 1984"
Or you can also check for the connection using hping (if you're on unix boxes).

I am getting lots of these in my BBOUT file:
CAN'T CONNECT TO bbd SERVER
bb CONNECTION TO xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx TIMED OUT...
Any ideas?
