RE: {bb} Bbgen + dns



Big Brother plays nicely when I run with the --no-ares flag. I am
unclear as to where to add that flag permanently though. Which files and
where?

Yes (and so did I - it's been a while since I've done debugging on the
old BB setup).

You need to do a 
   . $BBHOME/etc/bbdef.sh  # Note the "dot" first to source that file
after exporting BBHOME and before running bbtest-net.

That one is still valid, it changes the DNS lookup to use the standard
library "gethostbyname()" function instead of the ARES library in bbgen.
