Hi Joshua,

        It seems many newbies miss the fact that there are two parts to BB, the server part and the client part.  To monitor the server, you have to install both parts.  To monitor other systems, you need only the client part on those, but the server requires both.

        You did not state what release you installed nor state that you installed both parts.  Phil gives good advice for determining why the icons and page background are not showing.
