- Thread-topic: Check for number of procs
Has anyone written a script to check for *how many* of a particular proc
is running? For instance, currently my proc check in bbdef-client.sh
looks for vnc and vmware. It tells me there are 7 processes of vmware
running. I want to make sure no less than 7 procs are running, because
it means one of the vmx's failed.
A normal person could check for the individual names of the vmx
directories on each machine, but these machines are netbooted, and they
share a Big Brother config from their mounted boot server, so I have to
keep it generic.
Deadcat only has a version for NT. I'm running Bb 1.9e-btf and bbgen 3.5
on Linux.
Thought I'd ask before I try to re-invent the wheel.
