These messages are generated by sshd when BigBroter is doing the ssh test.
You can safley ignore them

I'm getting this in my log system:
Bad protocol version identification 'Big-Brother-Monitor-1.9e' from
10.1.14.118
Which is logging under the sshd log facility. Originally I was thinking
it could be a polling issue where BB just checks protocol versions that
the sshd is allowing, but now I'm not sure what it is doing.
Is this error safe to ignore?
