Guys,
Has anyone got
this kind of setup. On Solaris when DISM (Dynamic Intimate Shared Memory) is
used Solaris allocates memory for the SGA and then removes that memory from the
available swap. You would have thought that it might show up somewhere but it
doesn't. This gives the bb-memory.sh script some issues in that instead of swap
-s reporting what you'd expect the available swap is reduced by the size of the
SGA.
An Example
Memory
48G
Swap 4G
SGA
16G
You would
expect that swap -s should show that used + available = roughly 52G give
or take but in my example it's closer to 32G.
This skews the
stats and suggests that there is a shortage of swap space when there isn't.
Anyone come
across this or have a different monitor that takes DISM into consideration
?
Cheers
