Now that it is running, BB isn't reporting system stuff like disk and
cpu.
According to Paul's response below, the server and client were split.
Do I
have to run the client on the server to get this information?

Greetin's Brothers,
After a long time away, I'm back working with BB
again.
I installed on Fedora Core 3 with a user - bbuser
when I go to start bb (./runbb.sh start) it says it is
starting it writes to BBOUT that it is starting
but it does not start. No processes running no
griping
Any idea where I can look for clues?
What version of BB? A while back (maybe a year or so?)
the server and client were split into two separate processes.
I'm not sure if this has anything to do with what you see,
but what happens when you do a
netstat -an | grep 1984
after attempting to start bbd (the non-client BB daemon)?
