I should have also mentioned that I am using the sslcert check, which
is also turning purple. I Googled a bit more and found this:
http://support.bb4.com/archive/200501/msg00082.html but following the
steps to get MAXLINE and MAXMSG to match didn't fix the problem.

Man, I use the list a lot everytime I do a new install. But you guys are
so incredibly helpful. I've read the 'purple problems' page, and
googled, but I'm at a loss. Brand new install of bb1.9e-btf and bbgen
3.6 on Debian.
I've got a handful of http checks that are purple, but when you click,
the background is purple and the check itself is red. However, I can
wget the same URL from the bb machine and it works fine. I can do it
with curl manually, and I've ensured curl's path is right in the bb
configs. I've tried adding the --no-ares flag just for kicks but it
didn't help. The timestamp is current, and it's obviously updating, so
why the purple? I've got to be missing something, but I'm not sure where
to look.
For some reason, it's also not emailing alerts, tho the mailx on the box
itself is fine. BBOUT is less than helpful.
Any thoughts? Thanks in advance.
~Kimberly
