{bb} Strange problem with tmp files
We're running bb19c on Solaris 2.8. Big Brother seems to be logging tmp
files into two directories. /opt/bb/bb/tmp and /tmp. In tmp i have files
such as iostat.1426, iostat.out2.1107, key.1426 and disks.1107 and in the
/opt/bb/bb/tmp directory i have things such as .expire, BBPID, vmstat.1732
and MSG.yellow._var_adm_messages.805. I have checked the bbdef file and we
have $BBHOME/tmp set correctly as /opt/bb/bb/tmp.
I'd prefer it if it didn't log anything into /tmp and would use
/opt/bb/bb/temp for everything. Since the /tmp is swap it fills up with
thousands of files and then start getting errors for 'tmpfs over memory
limit.'
I've noticed that the files in /tmp never get deleted also which doesn't
help. I've also nocited that on one of our other solaris servers it is
logging everything into /opt/bb/bb/tmp however it also has thousands of old
files wasting space.
if anyone knows why this is occuring it would be appreciated.
