Oh sure, I was seeing those all the time also. But the fact that
bbd forks so much is a real problem. What also happens is that
the server gets so busy that updating of the log files just stalls.
Then when the web update kicks in, it will see all of these stale
logs and start turning them purple - which results in a new flood 
of updates and alerts being triggered, adding to the overload.
That's when I'd see the whole system grind to a halt.
