RE: {bb} proctab alternating between yellow and green



Aha. I hadn't looked at the logs in bbvar. It is indeed getting a status
from an IP that does not belong to that host. I always use FQDN, and I
delegated these BB installs, so it seems that someone did not use FQDN.
Oddly the rogue machine is in bb-hosts with a name that isn't in its
/etc/hosts and perhaps it is confused. This isn't my environment and I'm
still struggling. Thank you much.

Every time I've had a check flapping like that, it's been due to two
hosts reporting their status using the same hostname. At the bottom of
each of the status messages there's a line "Status received from ..."
with the IP-address where this status came from. If that is different
on your yellow and green status, then you've found the problem.
