{bb} smtp greet_pause
I am using FEATURE(`greet_pause', `700') in sendmail, to deal with
"slammer" style spam engines.
Basically this introduces a 700 millisecond delay between connection, and
the sendmail greeting message. If the remote client sends data before
that greeting, then it is not implementing the smtp protocol correctly,
and the server responds by not accepting any further data from that
client.
Problem is, BB looks (behaves) like a slammer!
Is there a way of introducing a delay between the initial connection to
port 25, and the sending of the text message?
Checked all the archives, but couldn't find anything relevant.
Thanks
john
