You can - edit the $BBHOME/bin/bb-network.sh, look for "220" near
"smtp", there's a switch-statement where you can plugin 554 and
make that be interpreted as OK.

However, I don't know if your smtp server might throw this error code
when some other problems shows up, so by handling this status as OK
you could hide some real problem.
