Re: {bb} Inaccurate background colour

Thank you Kimberly and Philip for your replies. I've looked into the points you suggested.

bb.html is being updated as I can see the "last update" time is accurate. bb2.html also displays the wrong background colour, and its time is also accurate.

There are no subdirectories in the logs or hist dirs. There are some broken symlinks in here though. We use symlinks to hide the hostname from the display so people who don't know what machine X is will see "Mail_Server" instead, for example. Some of the links are broken since I don't have all the reports coming in yet.

Running bbchkhosts.sh does come up with several unknown directives for internal scripts such as oracle and disk checks. Also a few invalid hostnames where we haven't put a real hostname in. These will be cleaned up in time as I get these scripts installed (I'm moving bb to a new host with a new version of bb and we have lots of hairy home-grown scripts to piece back together).

I was hoping this might be a common problem with a known solution. But as it seems this isn't the case, I'll leave it for now and see if the problem corrects itself once I get the internal scripts and broken links fixed up. Maybe this is also why I'm unable to disable any hosts/services...

Thanks again
Andrew

Hmmmm... make sure you have no directories under bbvar/logs

Thanks Sean, that did the trick. If you don't mind my asking, why does
the presence of a directory change the background color?

Any suggestions?

The last time that this was reported, it ended up "fixing itself".
The thread starts here:

It looks like it might have been triggered by something in bb-hosts.
It might be helpful to run etc/bbchkhosts.sh or, if you don't have too
much in there, re-create the bb-hosts file from scratch.

Cheers, Phil.
