I'd guess that the symbolic links are the source of your problem.
I'm pretty sure that this is not a supported technique, but (if
you really, really must do this) hard links are likely to cause
fewer problems than symbolic ones.

The check script tends to be less "intelligent" than the actual
parser and reports weird things as potential problems, just to
be on the safe side. It sounds like your set-up may be weirder
than most :)

If you just want the "fake" name to be used by BB, you can put that
name in bb-hosts and use the "testip" directive. If that machine is
running the client tests, you will need to use a "bbaliasname" file
so that it uses the "fake" name too. If you want to use both (or
multiple) names, you would either have to repeat the tests for each
name, do some serious code-mangling or stick with the method that
you're using (and keep an eye out for side effects).
