philip,
thanks for getting back to me...

You're welcome.

I have installed again from a source unpack and followed the README.INSTALL to the letter and still I have the same end result.
Sorry, I appear to have sent my last email without finishing it. There are files in the gif directory...
ls -1
arrow.gif

Nothing obviously wrong there (to me anyway).

I'd guess that some of your utility commands require a different syntax to get them working. I'm not familiar with "SlamdD" as a distribution, but I'd expect it to be similar to Slackware.

In order to test what BB is trying to do, I'd try the following:

grep HEAD /backup/bb1.9h-btf/etc/bbsys.sh

to find what BB is using for that command. Then:

set `/usr/bin/head -1 /backup/bbvar/logs/slime,qub,ac,uk.conn`

philip once again thanks for gettin back...

I can see a slight <dammit just hit my send macro by accident :S > discrepency in this as my distro Slamd ( which your right in thinking is just a 64bit version of slackware ) uses head -n $ instead of head -$....

when i use head -n i get "green" so i does work... ill try moddin the source manually and see how that affects it.
Im in GMT timezone so i wont be in work until +12 hrs from now (20:00 GMT)

Ill report back either way

Ronan

echo $1

replacing "/usr/bin/head" with whatever command you got from
the first step. If the "head" command gives you an error, you
may need to get a different version. If the "echo" gives you
something other than a colour, please post the contents of the
file "/backup/bbvar/logs/slime,qub,ac,uk.conn".

Cheers, Phil.
