Some people may elect to start a new "bbvar" directory when they
upgrade, but it is no necessary. The client part and server part
of each version will un-tar into a different directory name. So,
if you install them at the same level, the "bbvar" directory will
automatically be in the right place. E.g. :
$ ls /usr/local/bb
bb1.9g-btf bbc1.9g-btf bb1.9h-btf bbc1.9h-btf bbvar
If you want to do something more fancy with your directory
structure, you might need to move "bbvar" into the required
location. If so, it's helpful to check that the timestamps for
the status logs are preserved (in the future) by the move,
otherwise there will be much purpleness :(
Cheers, Phil.

In Dr. Johnson's famous dictionary, patriotism is defined as
the last resort of the scoundrel. With all due respect to an
enlightened but inferior lexicographer, I beg to submit that
it is the first. (Ambrose Bierce, "The Devil's Dictionary")
