RE : {bb} Do I need to setup sendmail to make email notificationwork?

Hi,
You don't need a sendmail server locally to send alerts,
but you have to tell your operating system wwhat's the name or the address
of your mail serevr.

Depending on your network configuration (nis, dns, etc), you can set the name
in different config files.

If you wish to set the sendmail.cf, you should try to set the "smart relay host".
Try to find an entry beginning with "DS" (the default is Dsmailer.relayhostname on
My server).

Change it with the name of your server like :
DSmymailserver

You can also set the DR if you wish to send also mail to unqualified names
(like "mail someone" where someone doesn't contain any @).

Try a mail -v bb afterwards.
