Re: {bb} Multiple BBNET servers
The clients don't care who pings them. Just don't put
the hosts in the BBNET server on the non-DMZ BBNET
server. The BBNET running on the BBDISPLAY can just
have noconn on the hosts on the BBDISPLAY.
The clients don't need to have a BBNET line in the bb-hosts
file, just themselves, BBPAGER and BBDISPLAY.
It's not documented anywhere, I just figured it out one day
a long time ago.

The problem I need to solve is not making all of the hosts use one
display, but instead having two different BBNET devices that both query
a different set of hosts and then using one display. According to the
bb-hosts file, it should be identical on all hosts. However, that would
mean that both BBNET's (one running on the BBDISPLAY host and one
running elsewhere) would be querying all of the hosts, one detecting
one
set of boxes as down and one detecting another set as downed (when
they're really all up).
What I'd think I'd want is a subset of each host file on each BBNET
device, or a way to say "only the BBNET running on host1.umdnj.edu
should check this machine." I'm going to look at the bb-hosts
documentation, but I don't think I missed anything.
Thanks.
