Bad idea.  I'm not sure how that is working in the first place.
Version "e" is when the client/server split took place (I think), 
so I'm sure the fact that it is working is coincidence.

In any event, add a "-x" to the top of runbb.sh on the machine 
where you're having problems and look at what the output 
gives you.  There's bound to be a problem turned up in there.

It should be fine.  I run server and client in separate directories on
a
few servers.  What is the error you get when you try to start the
server?  You should have separate users for the client and server.

you using 1.9i?

I know its possible to have both the client and server on the same
box,
but I seem to be having a problem with this new setup.

I have a box that has the client installed and sending the data back
to
the BBdisplay, like any client. Well, I need for this box and another
to
do some testing themselves and send the data to the BBdisplay host as
well which means installing the server on these two boxes. I installed
the server into its own path and tried running it, but it wont start.
I
have gone through each of the config files, but I don't see anything
out
of the ordinary. 

Does anyone have any thoughts on this?
