You could do this by tinkering with the code in bbpage.c, but I
wouldn't recommend it. The suggested way to achieve what you
want is to use a custom paging script, as detailed in the on-line
BB manual (section 4.8).

That said, under normal condition, "purple" alerts should not
really be frequent enough to cause difficulties. If you are
seeing a lot of these, it's probably better to try and eliminate
them rather than accommodate them.
