Hi all,
I have previously had BB server installed onto a W2K machine, and a NT client installed on a WXP machine. All has been working fine.
However, I have now installed BB Server onto a Linux machine, and I have that up and running. But when I changed the bbdisplay host name in bbntcfg.exe on the WXP machine it is not working. I cannot get procs, msgs, disk or cpu to show up. Conn for the client works fine, so I have obviously entered it into the bb-hosts file correctly.
I have tried to telnet using port 1984 from the WXP machine to the Linux server – just comes up with a blank screen and a cursor flashing, no prompts (does this mean its working?). I have also asked my manager to make sure that port 1984 is open and he says it is. He had someone else try to telnet 1984 to the WXP machine – and they said they could.
When I try and ping the WXP machine from the Linux box – ping client1 – I get “ping: unknown host client1” But if I ping client1.nuw.org.au – there is a response. If I ping by ip address – fine too.
Can anyone please help?
Kind regards,
