{bb} rrdtool install for larrd

I realize this is the Big Brother mailing list, but I am hoping that
someone out there has seen a similar situation that I am seeing ...

I am trying to install RRDTool to use with LARRD -
I am getting following errors when compiling rrd 1.2.12 :

Your Compiler does not do propper IEEE math ... Please find out how to
make IEEE math work with your compiler and let me know
(oetiker@ee.ethz.ch).
Check config.log to see what went wrong ...

I am running AIX 5.3 with gcc 3.3.2 and rrd 1.2.12.
