If I understand correctly, you have trapped the problem data and
tested by manually sending a combo message with the same truncated
result.

The next step would probably be to enable debugging in "bbd" to
see how the problem data is being processed. If you can send me
the data and details of your testing procedure, I can attempt
to reproduce the problem here. It's better to do that off-list,
so that attachments are preserved and non-interested parties
are not confused.
