This (or rather something close to it) can be done, but it is not
recommended. Alert messages can be missed and that might result in
an unacceptable delay in responding to a problem.
If you receive notification of a problem that you cannot fix
immediately, you can either acknowledge the alert for a short-term
problem (Section 4.4 of the on-line manual), or disable testing for
things that are likely to last longer (Section 4.10). That will
prevent you receiving multiple alerts for problems that you are
already aware of.
If, after doing this, you still feel that you are getting too many
messages, you can change the page delay to something larger than the
default 15 minutes. The system-wide value can be set in the file
bbwarnsetup.cfg and individual recipients can have their own values
in bbwarnrules.cfg. If you really only want one alert message, just
use a really large page delay.
