I am trying to figure what what the bbclient is for. I understand
client/server, but there is some usability without installing the
client on the actual server or on the machines being monitored. Please
forgive me if I sound a bit confused.......cause I am.
Right now, I am able to monitor machine connectivity by just installing the bbserver....(on the machine which has # BBPAGER BBNET BBDISPLAY options) Now, I am wondering what the client is necessary for. Will I need it to monitor ssh on a remote machine(remote to the # BBPAGER BBNET BBDISPLAY, I mean)
I am in a situation where I am not going to be able to install the client on all the machines that I want to monitor and I would like to know the extent of services that I am going to be able to monitor.
thanks in advance,
Bob
