Apart from sympathy, the best I can do is recommend that you keep
testing. In your situation, I would pull the network cable from the
primary server once a day for a week or so; then once a week for a
few months and after that whenever the mood takes you.

Without being able to reproduce the problem, it's often practically 
impossible to locate or even confirm it. In that case, it's often
better to aim for improved confidence.
