Hello Philip,

Thanks for the tip, it was something like that in my case.

After using the original config files and reapply our change in the parameters we were in business. 

I am used to edit with vi but unfortunately some people in my team just can't do it so they take the file back and forth between their PC and our Linux box... :-(

Maybe the text editor that you are using is mangling the line
terminators. I'd try using "red purple purple" as a quick test.
