{bb} Purple on conn?

What would cause purple on network tests?  Conn, smtp, pop, etc are  
all purple - they haven't updated for 40 min.  However, if I go into  
my BBNET machine and ping, telnet each of the machines I get a  
reply.  If I run:
bbnet 10.5.101.6:25 I also get a response.  I've found I have to  
reboot the machine to get it working again.  Any ideas?
