To localize this, you should do something like this as the BB user:

  export BBHOME=/usr/local/bbclient
  . $BBHOME/etc/bbdef.sh
  sh -x $BBHOME/bin/bb-local.sh

Then look for which "test" function is causing the problem. It's
most likely to be some unexpected output from one of the standard
utilities.
