{bb} bbconfig errors

I am trying to set up BB on RedHat ES 4_r_3  when I run

./bbconfig I get an error that no user "Your BB user doesn't exist - Please create it now!"

        Welcome to the Big Brother installation procedure.
Please confirm your OS: [redhatES]:
---> We'll configure for redhatES...

 

        Big Brother needs it's own user id.  If your BB user doesn't exist,
        you'll have to create it then re-run bbconfig.

 

What will be the user ID for BB [bb]: 505

 

*** Your BB user doesn't exist - Please create it now!
*** and re-run bbconfig - EXITING

 

I have created the user bb and another user BB just to make sure

 

bb:x:505:505:Big Brother:/home/bb:/bin/bash
BB:x:506:506::/home/BB:/bin/bash

Is do I have to specify a different home directory, UID and or GID ?

 

Any help with this is greatly appreciated.
