RE: {bb} Alert only after multiple failures

The way I’ve handled issues like this is to put a delay in bbwarnrules.cfg.  For instance, at the end of a rule, add “:~20” to create a 20 minute delay before a page is sent out.  If the test recovers before 20 minutes is up, no page will be sent.

Subject: {bb} Alert only after multiple failures

Hi,

I am relatively new to BB and have not been able to find an answer to this on the Help or searching the archives. I have created an ext script that gives me an alert based on CPU idle time. That part is working fine but I would only like to get alerts if it is critical for a number of times in a row, e.g. only if its critical for three checks in a row. Is there something in BB that does this or do I have to write that into the script? Basically I don't want short spikes to be alerting me, only sustained high usage.

Thanks,
Jason
