I'd recommend that, if you want to use version "i", you should start
by upgrading your primary server first. I can't think of a specific
reason problem that this will avoid, but that does not mean that
there are none.

To me, this suggests that you may have created "competing" BBNETs. The
5 minute gap indicates that the error status is being treated as a new
alert at every cycle. This can be due to a second BBNET (or sometimes
a client) overwriting the error status.

If you have stopped BB on the failover machine and confirmed that the
processes have stopped (but the problem persists), you should check
that you don't have more than one BBNET process running on the primary.

If in doubt, stop BB on the primary and re-start after checking that
the processes have terminated.

This should not be related but, if you really want to receive e-mail
alerts on "yellow" status, that colour should also be in "pagelevels".
