Depending on your network architecture and the type of problem, there
may be something that could make such errors more visible. I apologise
in advance if you are already doing this.

If you have two BBNETs, you might configure them to test each other
instead of testing themselves. It is also sometimes helpful to use
your BBPAGER as a limited BBNET which can check the connectivity
to the other BB servers. Just be careful not to test the same thing
from more than one location.

Alternatively, you could get creative with "failover" servers, but
that can quickly get very complicated.
