RE: {bb} RE: Problem with green gifs

This is a very strange problem. I never seen it before. This is a
brand new install on a new server. I have the following intstalled:

Bb1.9i-btf
Bbgen-3.6
Rrdtoo 1.2.2
Larrd 43d
Apache 2.2.2

The problem only appears on green icons the other ones are fine.

I am getting this type of messages in apache2 logs:

[Tue Jul 18 21:34:08 2006] [error] File does not exist:
/usr/local/apache2/htdocs/favicon.ico

[Tue Jul 18 20:09:55 2006] [error] [client ] File does not exist:
/usr/local/apache2/htdocs/bb/gifs/bkg-

It could be just the problem with my computer with both Mozilla and IE.
Strange though does not happen with other BB servers that I am running.

Now, I am having another problem with LARRD being displayed on the
status pages. I specified LARRD in runopts and nothing is happening.
The larrd graphs are not being generated in the status messages. Larrd
is running and via trends column I am able to see all the nicely created
graphs but not on the status messages. I also removed '&' from
cleanchars for larrd.

I am wondering if bbgen is doing something to prevent larrd graphs from
being displayed.

I don't know of a GIF that is actually white, but the clear one will
look white on a white background.

If the GIF periodically disappears, I would check the web server logs to
see what it is trying to display. If it is displaying a GIF that looks
white or clear, but the page source indicates that it should be using
green.gif, I would try viewing the page in a variety of different
browsers to ensure that your one is not being flaky.

Does this problem rectify itself on a subsequent update, or do you need
to re-start the sever to eliminate it?

Cheers, Phil.
