In an attempt to reproduce this problem I cleared out my "sandbox"
machine and installed 1.9i with bbgen 3.6. So far, I've yet to see
anything weird happening with the page rendering.
Thinking about it logically though, if the image links in the page
are still pointing to the correct file (green.gif) while the "white"
icon is displayed and that timestamp on that file shows that it is
not being altered, it seems likely that the problem involves either
the web-server software or the browser(s).
Something that you might like try would be to make a copy of the
relevant HTML file while the problem is evident and use "diff" to
compare it with the page when all is well. That should highlight
any syntax fault that might be confusing the server.
I'm also unclear about the exact symptoms. Are you seeing the
correct GIF (the little square button) being displayed in the
wrong colour (white), or is there just a white space which
might indicate that the link to the image is broken? One thing
that I did notice is that bbgen appears to try to display an
"unknown.gif" icon (that does not normally exist) when a new
test is added.
Cheers, Phil.
