My guess would be that the script is getting a "YES" out of the
database at a point where it expects an integer. As a first step,
there are three echo statements in the extent checking function
which are commented out. It would be helpful to uncomment those
to see what the script is retrieving.

You could also set debugging for the whole script, but that would
produce a large volume of output. It would be handier to run it
only once with debugging on. Also, since the script was recently
updated, it might be helpful to know which version you are
running.
