I just thought that I'd give the list an update on this, for weeks I've
been struggling, trying to get rid of erroneous email notifications,
even AFTER I removed the host(s) from bb-hosts & did a bin/bbrm on
the hostname on the BB server. Finally, a light bulb went off, and I
figured it out. SOME BACKGROUND: I'm running two BB servers, one as the Primary and one as the Failover. I use rsync to keep the failover's files up-to-date run through cron hourly. It dawned on me, finally, that the failover server was the one sending out the email notification. WHY did it do it? As part of my rsync process, I rsync bb/etc/*, which then makes the BB Failover think that its the primary (since its just gotten the primary's etc/bb-hosts file). Now I've modified my rsync scripts to exclude bb/etc/bb-hosts and things are happy. I really appreciate the response(s) I get from my brother (& sisters) on BB issues from this list, thanks all, steve steve sayler wrote: This is frustrating, with my bb-1.9i system, I'm getting messages like crazy (about every 300 min) from several machines that my Win sys-admin removed from the network w/o telling me. I edited the bb-hosts file to remove the machines, and then ran bin/bbrm 'hostname' on each machine that was removed from the network. That was Wed., and I'm still getting emails today (Fri) every 300 or so minutes. Here is the email I receive:-- =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-==-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= To unsubscribe from this list, or to subscribe to the bb-digest list send e-mail to mailto:majordomo@bb4.com with unsubscribe bb -and/or- subscribe bb-digest in the BODY of the message. |
