Folks,
We are currently using Big Brother to monitor all of our internal
network equipment and servers for any problems. The system is stable
and working well. However, if the big brother system dies or the
network is down, we have no way of getting alerts for problems (we don't
want to use a modem to send out pages).
Is there another organization out there (preferably using Big Brother
also) who would be willing to monitor 4-5 systems on our network for us
and have their system alert us if they go down. Basically, we would
need our Internet router, internal router, mail server, web server, and
big brother system monitored. If you are using Big Brother I can send
you a sample hosts file and the changes needed in your bbwarnsetup and
bbwarnrules files. You can setup a custom page on your system for us
and configure the system to only send us alerts for our systems so you
don't get bothered if something is down.
We would be willing to monitor a few of your systems remotely also. It
is alot cheaper than paying for a service :-)
Thanks-
Joe
