Paul,

Is it the warning from the top of bbinc.sh that is being triggered?
If so, this could also be an indication that something has gone
wrong with the system definitions in bbsys.sh.

To get a handle on what is going wrong, I'd try something like the
following as the BB user (changing the BBHOME path as appropriate).

  export BBHOME=/home/bb/bb1.9i-btf
  cd $BBHOME
  . etc/bbsys.sh
  set -x
  . etc/bbinc.sh

That should give you a more specific reason as to why the comparison
is failing.
