I have been able to write a script that monitors Exchange Database File Sizes and reports to Big Brother. The script runs on one server and sends a report to Big Brother similar to the svcs checks with a list of server names and which one is too big.

 

Within the BB Client you have an option for Externals List. Type the name to the script (with the full path to the ext dir) that checks directorys with /INT {time in seconds}

You also have an option for Saved Logs Location. Point this to a directory that the above script writes a file to send to Big Brother.

 

Here is a copy of the output file. It MUST be named: -{Name of Test}

{colour} {date and time} {test name}

{source to icon (red, yellow or green)} {notification text}

Hi. I am looking for a way to monitor file sizes with BB. I need to monitoring the combined size of a few files on a Windows 2000 server.

I have looked on deadcat, but there are only Unix solutions.

 Anyone know of a way to do that on Windows?
